What Is the difference between Content Targeting and Behavioral Targeting?

When utilizing Content Targeting, we are purchasing inventory by the type of site categories like News websites, Real Estate websites, Credit & Lending websites, etc.

When using Behavioral Targeting, we are purchasing inventory utilizing data providers who aggregate a user’s online and offline behaviors to build a targetable user segment.

Can I target specific sites or domains?

Although we do not target specific domains, we can target news, real estate, and other various site categories to users within a requested geographic zone.

The exchange really isn't a direct buy mechanism, the best way to think of it is that we purchase your target audience rather than particular sites.

What Is Site Retargeting and how is it executed?

Site retargeting is sending ads to unique visitors that have been to the advertiser’s website.

A pixel must be placed on the advertiser’s website in order to execute site retargeting.

We always recommend placing a pixel early so that we have time to gather a pool of unique visitors to initiate site retargeting when a campaign goes live.

What conversions should I track?

This will vary wildly by advertiser in relation to their site function and business goals.

Best practice will be to navigate to the landing page and attempt to complete a digital conversion as a user would.
Note each click and new URL loaded through the process.

This helps to determine the funnel that a user would travel, identify potential attrition points, and report on them through completion.

Keep in mind the 5 conversion action limit, so you may need to track “middle points” in the process.

How many impressions are included in this campaign?

We will serve 100,000 impressions per month at the starting price for this product.

What are the steps to get started?

Once the order is submitted, clients receive an email from their assigned account administrator that will serve as the communication center for the campaign.

This communication will serve to confirm all campaign details, confirmation of campaign activation, as well as any and all other communication tied to the campaign.

We have a 3 business day turnaround time to launch campaigns once all assets are received.

What countries are supported?

We have the ability to run campaigns in any country.
However, do note that there are some countries that have specific restrictions and this could impact targeting (e.g. China, European Union, etc.)

What languages are supported?

We are able to target 42 different languages including, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

We are continuously expanding our language selection so feel free to inquire about any particular language.

Do you serve on Facebook or Instagram?

Our ads do not serve on Facebook or Instagram, as those are separate ad platforms.

What is "Contextual Targeting" and how is it helpful?

Contextual targeting is an advertising strategy matching ads to relevant web pages or platforms based on the content of the page.
Its goal is to place ads on content which is closely related to the products or services being advertised - this can increase the chances of capturing the audience's interest.

Here's how contextual targeting works:

  • Analyze content: A web crawler scans a website's URLs and categorizes the content and placements. 
  • Match ads to content: When a user visits a page, the ad server matches the information about the URL to the data collected by the crawler. 
  • Deliver ads: The ad server matches relevant campaigns to topic categories, keywords, and other factors to deliver the ads. 

There are several types of contextual targeting methods, here are a couple methods:

  • Category contextual targeting: Places ads based on general categories, such as beauty, automotive, or finance.
  • Keyword contextual targeting: Places ads based on target keywords that are specified.
